Amid a significant deterioration of the security situation in the Middle East, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has strongly urged all Ukrainian citizens to leave the territory of Israel and Iran as soon as possible, until the situation in the region stabilizes.

This was published on the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s website on June 17.

Ukrainians who remain in either country are advised to stay alert, follow instructions from local authorities, heed air raid sirens, take shelter immediately when necessary, observe all safety measures, and keep identity documents on hand at all times.

Ukraine’s embassies in Israel and Iran are compiling evacuation lists and preparing options for the safe departure of citizens. Updated information on possible evacuation routes is available on the official pages of the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel and Iran.

In case of an emergency or direct threat to life or health, citizens are urged to contact the nearest Ukrainian diplomatic mission abroad or reach Ukraine’s 24-hour consular hotline.

The active fighting started on June 13, when Israel carried out a large-scale air operation against Iran overnight, striking more than 100 military and nuclear targets and reportedly killing three of the country’s highest-ranking military commanders.

According to BBC, more than 220 people have been killed in Israeli strikes, while Israel reported 24 casualties.
