Ukrainian athletes Viktor Didukh and Iryna Shynkaryova secured a bronze medal in table tennis at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Competing in the mixed doubles tournament (class XD17), they reached the semifinals after defeating a Brazilian duo, guaranteeing at least a bronze medal.

In the semifinals, Didukh and Shynkaryova faced China’s Zhao Shuai and Mao Jingdian, who were seeded fourth in the tournament. The Ukrainian pair won the first two sets with a score of 11-9 but were unable to maintain their lead, losing the next three sets (11-9, 11-6, 12-10), and missed out on a place in the final.

This bronze medal marks Ukraine’s first in table tennis at the 2024 Paralympics and is particularly significant as the mixed doubles event made its debut at these Games in Paris.

As of now, Ukraine has won nine medals at the 2024 Paralympic Games: one gold, five silver, and three bronze.
