Ukraine’s “Lyut” Robot Soldier Tested in Combat—A New Era of 24/7 Firepower

Ukraine’s military has approved the deployment of the domestically produced “Lyut” robot soldier, designed to strengthen frontline operations with surveillance and fire support capabilities.
The robotic complex, which has undergone combat testing, was formally integrated into Ukrainian Defense Forces on March 18, as reported by the Ministry of Defense.
The “Lyut” has undergone extensive testing in real combat conditions and is equipped with a 7.62-caliber machine gun, as well as additional technology that enables it to identify and engage targets both during the day and at night.
Compact in design, the robot fits into the body of a military pickup truck and is powered by a silent electric motor. Its battery offers extended operational time, and the robot’s high ground clearance ensures stability on difficult terrain.
It is capable of operating in a wide range of temperatures, enhancing its adaptability in various environments.
Controlled remotely from a secure position, “Lyut” allows operators to carry out missions without being exposed to direct danger.
The primary purpose of the robotic complex is to support and reinforce military units, particularly in high-risk areas, thereby minimizing the need for human presence in the most hazardous zones.
Earlier, soldiers from Ukraine’s 93rd Kholodnyi Yar Mechanized Brigade began using ground drones to install barbed wire along the front lines in Donbas.
