On the 8th day of the Paris Paralympics 2024, Ukraine’s athlete Mariia Pomazan won the gold medal in the shot put (class F35) with the best result of the season 12.75 m.

This is Pomazan’s third Paralympic gold. She won her first 2 golds at London 2012 and Tokyo 2020.

Pomazan has also earned a silver in the shot put at Rio 2016 and the discus throw at London 2012

As of 3 pm (GMT+3), September 5, Ukraine has earned 53 medals in total, 14 gold, 18 silver, and 21 bronze, placing it at the 7th place in the Paralympics medal table.

The 2024 Paralympic Games will be held in Paris from August 28 to September 8. This year Ukraine sent its largest-ever team to the Paralympics, with 140 athletes competing in 17 of the 22 sports.
