Ukrainian actor Yurii Felipenko, known to audiences for his role in the series “A Promise to God,” has been killed in action. The news was shared by his wife, Kateryna Motrych, in a social media post on June 15.
“Yura is gone. Yura was, without exaggeration, my world, my soul, my light. There are no words for this loss. I feel destroyed. Details of the farewell will follow,” she wrote.
Felipenko joined the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in April 2024 and served with the Separate UAV Regiment “Achilles” of the 92nd Assault Brigade.

Actors, TV hosts, musicians, and members of Ukraine’s creative community expressed their condolences, remembering Felipenko as a kind and open-hearted person.
“It’s horrible and heartbreaking. For me, Yurii symbolized the beginning of a new era of young, modern Ukrainian actors. Beyond his undeniable talent, he proved to be a hero-a defender of our country,” said TV host Masha Efrosinina.
Before joining the military, the actor was active as a volunteer, organizing fundraisers, supplying soldiers with essential items, and personally delivering aid to the front line.
On November 12, 2024, director of the Ukrainian movie Dovbush, Oles Sanin, shared that five members of the film’s crew had been killed at the front lines, and another seven were missing in action.
