In March 2025, Ukraine’s Air Defense Forces shot down a total of 4,043 aerial targets, according to a report by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on March 30.
The interceptions included one Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missile, 25 Kh-101/Kh-55SM cruise missiles, eight Kalibr cruise missiles, one Iskander-K cruise missile, and one Kh-59/69 guided air-to-surface missile. In addition, 2,328 Shahed-type attack UAVs, 805 reconnaissance drones, and 874 UAVs of other types were destroyed.

Ukrainian military aviation conducted over 580 sorties throughout the month. Approximately 200 were carried out for fire missions and close air support, while more than 320 were tasked with air defense coverage. During these operations, Ukrainian aircraft destroyed 412 aerial targets and struck enemy command posts, logistics hubs, and concentrations of personnel and military equipment.
Units operating unmanned aerial systems within the Joint Rifle Brigade of the Air Force completed 3,429 combat flights in March. These included 2,976 reconnaissance missions using UAVs and 453 missions involving payload drops and FPV drone strikes.

As a result of these operations, Ukrainian forces report approximately 260 enemy personnel eliminated, the destruction of 88 enemy positions and shelters, one tank, a fuel and lubricant storage site, and three UAV launch points.
On the night of March 28 alone, Russian forces launched over 160 attack drones at Ukraine. According to earlier reports, Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted 89 of them, while more than 50 failed to reach their targets.
Earlier, on March 7, French Mirage-2000 fighter jets were used in combat over Ukraine for the first time, helping repel a large-scale Russian missile and drone attack targeting critical infrastructure. Ukrainian forces intercepted 134 aerial threats, including cruise missiles and Shahed-type drones.
