Ukrainian Baykar Plant Construction to Be Completed by August 2025

The General Director of the Turkish defense company Baykar, Haluk Bayraktar, predicts that the company's drone manufacturing plant in Ukraine will be ready by 2025.

He made this statement in an interview with Reuters.

According to Bayraktar, construction of the Ukrainian Baykar plant is set to be completed next year. "We have completed 80% of the construction, and machinery is already being ordered. The production date will depend on the course of the war, but the plant will be ready in August 2025," he said.

The plant is expected to produce Bayraktar TB2 drones or its heavier variant, TB3, which can carry more payload.

Earlier this year, Haluk Bayraktar mentioned that the plant would employ 500 people and produce about 120 drones per year.

The Turkish company Baykar received licensing permits from the government for the production of Bayraktar TB2 and Akıncı drones in Ukraine in June 2023. Construction of the plant began the following month.

Ukraine’s drone industry has skyrocketed from producing up to 5,000 drones to over a million annually in just two years, and setting a goal to reach up to 4 million units in 2024.
