Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Reports Over 55,000 Russian Casualties in Kursk Region

Ukrainian forces continue their defensive operations in the Kursk region, with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi confirming ongoing efforts to prevent the enemy from making significant inroads into Ukrainian territory.
“In the operational zone of the 'Kursk' group of forces, our soldiers continue to conduct a defensive operation to prevent the enemy from breaking through deep into the territory of Ukraine,” Syrskyi said, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Telegram channel on March 27.
He also emphasized that Ukrainian forces are actively carrying out counterattacks and assault operations to disrupt enemy advances. “With the same goal, Ukrainian troops are carrying out effective counterattacks and assault operations,” Syrskyi added.
“During the work, I studied in detail all the problematic issues related to the organization of combat support, and also made a decision to replenish ammunition, drones, and move reserves,” he said.
Since the start of the Kursk operation seven and a half months ago, Ukrainian forces have inflicted significant casualties on the enemy.
“In the seven and a half months since the start of the Kursk operation, the total losses that our soldiers inflicted on the enemy amounted to more than 55,000 people. Of these, more than 22,200 were irretrievable, and more than 31,800 were medical casualties. Over 940 enemy soldiers have been taken prisoner,” Syrskyi reported.
Syrskyi expressed his deep respect for the soldiers involved in the Kursk operation, acknowledging their resilience and effectiveness. “My respect goes to the soldiers on the Kursk front for their efficiency and resilience,” he said. “Thanks to you, we are maintaining a 'sanitary zone' on the territory of the aggressor country, blocking the enemy on the northern border of Ukraine.”
He concluded by expressing confidence that Ukrainian forces would continue to achieve success. “I am sure that new offensives and new victories are ahead of us,” Syrskyi stated.
