Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted a coordinated nighttime strike on positions of the Russian 1490th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade, a unit of the 6th Army, in Russia’s Kursk region.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the operation successfully targeted the radar station of an S-400 surface-to-air missile system.

The Russian unit had reportedly been operating in a ground-to-ground mode, directing strikes against stationary targets. Such activities have primarily resulted in damage to civilian infrastructure and casualties among residents in Ukraine’s frontline regions.

This latest action highlights Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to disrupt Russian military capabilities and protect civilian lives. No further details on the extent of the damage or casualties were disclosed.

The General Staff emphasized that the strike was part of a broader strategy involving various components of Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

Earlier, on October 25, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a Russian Buk-M3 air defense system and destroyed the radar guidance station of a Buk-M2 system in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region. This follows a similar success on October 21, when Ukrainian forces destroyed another Buk-M3 system, valued at approximately $50 million.
