Ukrainian Forces Destroy Russian Buk-M3 Air Defense System

The Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Buk-M3 air defense system of the Russian forces, which is valued at up to $50 million.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“On the night of October 21, units of The Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, as part of the tasks to detect and destroy the enemy's anti-aircraft defenses, hit the Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile system,” the General  Staff wrote. 

The system was located about 60 kilometers (37 miles) from the battle line. Depending on the modification, its cost can vary from $40 to $50 million.

According to the General Staff, as of October 21, the Ukrainian Forces have destroyed 979 anti-aircraft warfare systems.
