The Ukrainian delegation has arrived in Istanbul for a second round of negotiations with representatives of the Russian Federation.

This was confirmed in a comment to journalists by Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi.

Talks between the two sides are scheduled to take place on Monday afternoon, June 2.

Ahead of the talks, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy approved an updated composition of the Ukrainian delegation, as outlined in Presidential Decree, published on the official website of the Office of the President on June 1. The document mandates the delegation to engage in dialogue with both international partners and Russian representatives in pursuit of a just and lasting peace.

Defense Minister Rustem Umerov continues to lead the Ukrainian delegation, as in previous rounds.

Earlier, The Russian Federation has proposed holding a second round of ceasefire negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul on June 2.

According to Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Russia had prepared a memorandum outlining its position on what it describes as “the root causes” of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Lavrov stated that a Russian delegation, led by Vladimir Medinsky, is prepared to present the document to Ukrainian counterparts and offer further clarification during the talks.
