According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the 425th Separate Assault Regiment “Skala” raised the national flag over the village of Zarichne, publishing a video of the operation on September 8.

The village sits along the Zherebets river and is part of the Lyman territorial community in Kramatorsk district, Donetsk region.

Ukrainian forces had previously regained partial control of Zarichne during the Kharkiv counteroffensive in the fall of 2022, but the settlement remained contested.

In addition, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, reported that in August, in the Pokrovsk direction, Russia managed to capture only 5 square kilometers, while Ukrainian troops have regained control over 26 square kilometers.

Earlier, the Ukrainian National Guard’s 4th Rapid Response Brigade “Rubizh”, working with other units, cleared a nearby village on the Dobropillia axis.

During that operation, as many as a platoon of Russian troops were reported killed, wounded, or taken prisoner.
