Ukraine Recaptures Strategic Village Near Kupiansk, Cutting Off Russian Access Route

Ukrainian forces have regained control of the village of Myrne in Kharkiv region, located next to the city of Kupiansk. The area had previously allowed Russian troops to influence the main route leading into the city.
The liberation was confirmed by Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the “Dnipro” Operational-Strategic Grouping of Forces. “As of now, Russian forces have been pushed out of Myrne,” he said in comments to Suspilne.
He added that there is currently no confirmed information regarding Russian casualties, and Ukrainian troops continue to advance.
Kupiansk district military administration chief Andrii Kanashevych previously explained that Myrne and Kupiansk are located side by side, with their settlements merging into one another. The restoration of control over Myrne strengthens Ukraine’s defensive and logistical position in this sector of the front.
Earlier in Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces launched a series of counteroffensive operations, regaining control of the villages of Mykhailivka, Velykyi Hai, Volodymyrivka, and Novomykhailivka.
According to Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, the operations were part of a broader push on the Pokrovsk front, where Ukrainian units cleared multiple settlements of Russian troops.
Syrskyi inspected the front line, met with commanders from several brigades—including the 25th Air Assault, 68th Jaeger, and 32nd and 155th Mechanized—and awarded personnel.
The Ukrainian Navy also confirmed the role of the 1st Marine Battalion of the 37th Marine Brigade and the 214th Assault Battalion in the earlier liberation of Zelenyi Hai.
