Ukrainian Air Assault Forces have reported the liberation of Zolotyi Kolodiaz, a settlement in Donetsk region, following coordinated actions by the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade.

According to the brigade’s 3rd battalion, the operation forced Russian troops to retreat after sustaining losses. Video footage of the fighting was released by the unit’s press service.

The paratroopers also repelled an attempted Russian breakthrough in the direction of Dobropillia, preventing further advances. Stabilization measures in the area are ongoing.

The operation took place in the broader context of recent Russian attempts to push along the Toretsk and Pokrovsk axes.

On August 8, Russian forces advanced up to 15 kilometers in some sectors after breaking through near Kucheriv Yar and entering several settlements, including Vesele. Ukrainian Defense Forces later deployed reserves to cut off the corridor and halt the progression.

In parallel, elements of the National Guard’s Azov Corps announced the clearing of six settlements—Hruzke, Rubizhne, Novovodiane, Petrivka, Vesele, and Zolotyi Kolodiaz. According to the unit, Russian forces suffered several hundred casualties, with additional losses in equipment, including armored vehicles, artillery, and transport.

Earlier, Ukrainian defense forces regained control of the border village of Besalivka in Sumy region, where units of the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment and the 24th Separate Assault Battalion eliminated 18 Russian soldiers during the operation, according to the General Staff.
