Ukrainian Forces Reportedly Eliminate Russian Captain Responsible for Civilian Attacks in Crimean Car Explosion
On the morning of November 13, a car explosion occurred in Sevastopol, temporarily occupied Crimea, targeting a first-rank naval captain and reportedly the Chief of Staff of the Black Sea Fleet’s 41st missile boat brigade, 47-year-old Valery Trankovsky. The man died following the blast.
A Kyiv Post source within SBU later stated that the incident resulted from a successful SBU special operation, carried out after a week of intensive surveillance.
The SBU statement added that Trankovsky was responsible for planning and directing cruise missile launches from the Black Sea targeting Ukrainian civilians.
It claimed that the deadly strike on a shopping mall in Vinnytsia in July 2022, where 29 civilians, including children, were killed, was orchestrated under his orders, along with multiple attacks on civilian sites in Odesa.
“Payback for crime is only a matter of time. No occupier and murderer can feel safe wherever he is,” the SBU source added.
