Ukrainian Forces Shift Tactics to Disrupt Russian Logistics on the Battlefield
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have intensified targeting tactical command posts near the front line, aiming to disrupt the command and control capabilities of Russian forces on the battlefield, according to a report by ISW on January 12.
The Institute suggests that Ukrainian strikes on key command posts in Russia’s rear are likely aimed at undermining broader Russian efforts in logistics and operational planning. This could impact Russia’s ability to carry out military operations in the western part of the Donetsk region.
On January 8 and 10, the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a precision strike on the command post of Russia’s 8th Guards CAA , located in the city of Khartsyzk, and the 3rd AC in occupied Svitlodarsk, both located in the Donetsk region.
On January 12, the Ukrainian General Staff announced that Ukrainian forces carried out a high-precision airstrike on the command post of Russia’s 2nd CAA in Novohrodivka, Donetsk region.
“ISW has observed that the 2nd CAA is currently leading Russian operations south of Pokrovsk, that the 3rd AC is operating near Chasiv Yar, and that the 8th CAA is leading Russian efforts near Kurakhove,” the report states.
On January 12, it was reported that Ukrainian forces may have achieved tank superiority over the Russian army for the first time since the start of the full-scale war with the help of drones.
