Ukrainian Military Revises Chasiv Yar Control Figures After Spokesman’s Error

This morning, the 24th Separate Motorized Brigade spokesman Andrii Polukhin said on the national telethon that Russian troops control about 40% of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region, but after some time he explained that he "made a mistake in calculating the territory."

"It was my mistake. I looked at the DeepState map in the morning, before the broadcast, and for some reason decided that it was 40%. Although I looked horizontally at the length of Chasiv Yar, but there is also a percentage of administrative boundaries of large districts vertically… And there are none in DeepState. We are already preparing a statement from the brigade," he said.

Heavy battles have been going on in Chasiv Yar since the spring of 2024. The potential capture of Chasiv Yar poses a serious threat to Ukrainian efforts to defend the Donetsk region within its administrative borders.
