The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has announced the codification and operational approval of a new infantry rocket flamethrower, developed by Ukrainian experts. The Ministry’s press service reported the update.

This new portable weapon is designed to target enemy strongholds, lightly armored and automotive vehicles, and to eliminate enemy forces behind cover, obstacles, or in open terrain.

The flamethrower is equipped with a rocket-propelled grenade containing a thermobaric mixture. The explosion of this grenade has a blast effect equivalent to that of a large-caliber artillery shell. The impact area creates a fireball with a volume of approximately fifteen cubic meters and a burning temperature of nearly 2500 degrees Celsius. The threat to enemy personnel extends to over 50 meters from the explosion’s epicenter.

The weapon is particularly effective in urban combat situations, where it can neutralize enemies hiding in fortified structures such as brick buildings.

The introduction of this flamethrower into the Ukrainian Armed Forces' arsenal is part of ongoing efforts to enhance combat capabilities and improve operational effectiveness in challenging conditions. Earlier this year, the Ministry of Defense also codified and approved five new types of armored vehicles.
