The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has officially approved and codified the use of the domestically produced "Khyzhyi Ptakh " unmanned aerial system within the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense on March 26, citing the Main Directorate for the Lifecycle Support and Maintenance of Weapons and Military Equipment.

Engineers developed the “Khyzhyi Ptak” drone with a focus on analyzing the use of drones in combat operations. The system has already proven its effectiveness in destroying armored vehicles and fortified fire positions. The drones in this complex are designed to have enhanced resistance to electronic warfare systems.

The Khyzhyi Ptakh drones come in various frame sizes. The drones are said to be capable of carrying a payload sufficient to destroy tanks, armored personnel carriers, self-propelled artillery units, fortified bunkers, and more. The drone effectively works in various weather conditions, both day and night.

On February 9, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the launch of the “Drone Line” initiative, outlining a new phase in the integration of unmanned aerial systems into the country’s defense strategy.
