Ukrainian President Zelenskyy Meets US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg to Discuss Joint Defense Efforts

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Keith Kellogg, US Special Envoy, to discuss the path to peace and practical steps that can be taken to bring it closer. The meeting took place on July 14.

The discussion focused on strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, as well as the joint production and procurement of defense weapons in collaboration with Europe.
“We discussed the path to peace and what we can practically do together to bring it closer. This includes strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, joint production, and procurement of defense weapons in collaboration with Europe,” Zelenskyy wrote in an X post after the meeting.
The conversation also touched on sanctions against Russia and those who support its aggression. Zelenskyy emphasized the need for US leadership in curbing Russia’s ambitions.
"We hope for US leadership, as it is clear that Moscow will not stop unless its unreasonable ambitions are curbed through strength,” he added.
Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to Special Envoy Keith Kellogg for his visit, noting the ongoing support from the US
“I thank Keith Kellogg for this visit to Ukraine. I am grateful to President Trump for the important signals of support and the positive decisions for both our countries. We deeply value the support of the American people,” said Zelenskyy.
The meeting underscores the continued partnership between Ukraine and the United States, especially in military cooperation and diplomatic efforts to put pressure on Russia. The visit by Special Envoy Kellogg is an indication of the US’s renewed commitment to Ukraine, as it continues to defend its sovereignty and seek peace.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg in Rome.
US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg had also previously visited Minsk, where he met with Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko.
