Ukrainian Soldiers Save the Wounded Under Fire—on a Captured Russian Motorcycle

Soldiers from Ukraine’s 79th Air Assault Brigade used a captured Russian motorcycle to evacuate their wounded comrades during a recent operation, according to a statement released by the brigade.
The unit reported that six Russian troops on motorcycles had breached Ukrainian defenses and entered a village behind the front line. As operators of FPV drones destroyed four of the attackers remotely, a Ukrainian assault group began searching for the remaining two.
One of the Russian motorcycles was later found abandoned in the middle of the road after suffering a flat front tire. The Ukrainian troops quickly repurposed the vehicle, using it to evacuate two wounded soldiers from the combat zone.
The brigade said the Russian soldier who abandoned the motorcycle, along with another who attempted to hide in nearby streets, were eventually located and neutralized.
“It’s always satisfying to complete the mission — clear the village and evacuate our wounded comrades,” said the commander of the assault group from the 79th Air Assault Brigade.
According to the brigade, four of the six Russian troops were destroyed by FPV drones, while the remaining two were eliminated in direct engagement.
The 79th Air Assault Brigade, based in the Tavria operational area, has been involved in multiple key operations in eastern Ukraine. Recently, the same unit destroyed an entire Russian assault group near Pokrovsk, eliminating at least 50 enemy troops and their armored vehicles.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Armed Forces released footage showing a servicemember using a US-supplied Stinger MANPADS to shoot down a Russian-launched Shahed drone in western Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense shared the clip on X, highlighting the interception as part of a broader wave of Russian air attacks over the weekend.
