Ukrainian Special Operations Forces (SSO) reported that operators from the 3rd Regiment wiped out a four-man Russian sabotage and reconnaissance team attempting to infiltrate the frontline city of Pokrovsk on November 26.

According to the military, the Russian group attempted to move into a high-rise building to stage for another push deeper into the city. Ukrainian special operators, tracking their movement, set up an ambush along the route.

The SSO says the team executed the strike with “coordinated, precise” action, killing all four members of the Russian infiltration unit.

“The enemy tried to gather inside a residential tower, but three of them were eliminated before they reached the building. The fourth attempted to retreat and even tried to shoot down a Ukrainian reconnaissance drone with small arms. He was detected and destroyed,” the SSO said in its statement.

During their withdrawal, Ukrainian operators also located and neutralized a Russian “waiting drone” — a concealed loitering munition placed to ambush advancing troops.

The General Staff added that Ukrainian forces on the Pokrovsk axis repelled 52 Russian assault attempts on November 25 alone, across a wide area that included the settlements of Shakhove, Zatyshok, Nové Shakhove, Dorozhnye, Vilne, Chervonyi Lyman, Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Zvirove, Udachne, Hryshyne, Molodetske, Muravka, and Filiya.

Earlier, operators of the 8th Separate Special Purpose Brigade of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces identified and neutralized a Russian sabotage-reconnaissance group.
