Ukrainian citizens contributed over $4 billion to Poland’s state budget in 2024, as reported by UNIAN on March 9. This amount is more than five times higher than the total financial aid provided to them by Polish authorities.

Experts from BGK noted that for every Polish zloty (PLN) received by Ukrainians under the “Family 800+” program — a state demographic support initiative granting families a monthly subsidy of 800 PLN per child — Ukrainian migrants paid approximately 5.4 zloty in taxes back to the Polish government.

“Given the estimated amount of taxes paid by Ukrainian migrants in Poland, we can conclude that for every zloty received through social assistance, Ukrainians returned more than five times that amount to the Polish state budget,” BGK analysts emphasized.

According to preliminary estimates, more than 2 million Ukrainian citizens are currently living in Poland, with about 1 million arriving after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.

Previously, it was reported that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has signaled that Poland may seek access to nuclear weapons, warning that Europe could face war with Russia within the next few years.
