The United States imposed sanctions on a group of Russian and foreign IT companies, as well as several Russian nationals, accused of involvement in cyberattacks and efforts to circumvent existing restrictions, according to RBC-Ukraine on November 19.
RBC-Ukraine, citing the US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), reported that the new measures target companies in Russia, Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, and Serbia under Ukraine- and Russia-related sanctions authorities and CAATSA, aiming to curb cyberattacks and sanctions evasion.
The restrictions freeze any assets under US jurisdiction and bar transactions with the designated entities and individuals, with violators facing possible secondary sanctions.

According to the report, the sanctioned Russian IT firms include Media Land LLC, ML.Cloud DC, Kirishi LLC, and Media Land Technology LLC.
Russian citizens associated with the sanctioned companies also came under US restrictions, including Maksim Makarov, Yulia Pankova, Aleksandr Volosovik, Ilya Zakirov, and Kirill Zatolokin.
RBC-Ukraine also recalled recent major cyber incidents, including a UK probe into a large-scale attack that exposed data from eight military bases, disruptions at airports in London, Brussels, and Berlin, and a December 2024 Russian hacker attack on Ukraine’s Justice Ministry registries, described as one of the largest since the full-scale war began.
Earlier, it was reported that the US imposed sanctions on the Russian cybercrime group Aeza Group, its global network, two affiliated companies, and four leadership individuals for supporting cyberattacks on the US and globally.
