US Precision Airstrike Destroys Iranian-Operated Russian Tor-M1 Air Defense, Video

A US precision airstrike destroyed what appeared to be an Iranian-operated, Russian-supplied Tor-M1 air-defense system, according to Army Recognition on March 3.
US Central Command released a video on March 2 showing strikes on Iranian military targets under operation Epic Fury. The footage includes a tracked, radar-equipped vehicle identified by Army Recognition as a Tor-M1.

CENTCOM said the campaign aims to disrupt Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities and protect US personnel and allies. In a statement, CENTCOM accused Iran of launching ballistic missiles “maliciously” at military and civilian locations.
The command did not name the aircraft or munition used, or the strike location inside Iran.
The Tor-M1 is a short-range, mobile air-defense system built to engage aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, drones, and precision-guided munitions.
It uses its own surveillance and tracking radar and can detect, track, and fire while moving or from short halts.
Iran bought 29 Tor-M1 launchers from Russia under a deal signed in late 2005. It reported deliveries occurred between 2006 and 2007, along with more than 700 missiles.
Earlier, it was reported that American forces had struck the Iranian IRIS Shahid Bagheri, which they described as Iran’s first naval drone carrier, created by converting an existing vessel.
The strike took place during the initial phase of Operation Epic Fury and was presented as a direct response to Iranian claims that Iran had sunk a US aircraft carrier.
The report framed the strike as a significant naval action aimed at weakening Iran’s ability to launch and support drone operations at sea.
