Winter Lifeline: Germany Sends $46 Million to Keep Ukraine Warm Under Russian Fire

Germany will provide Ukraine with an additional $46 million in winter assistance to help civilians cope with ongoing Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, n-tv reported, citing German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul.
The funding will be directed toward humanitarian efforts, including the repair of damaged heating systems and residential buildings, as well as the delivery of generators, blankets, and hygiene products.

“Our support helps ensure that homes remain warm and lit, and that Russia, with its targeted terrorist attacks on civilian gas and heating supplies, does not succeed in breaking the morale of those defending their homeland,” Wadephul said, according to n-tv.
The latest aid package comes as Ukraine braces for another harsh winter under sustained Russian missile and drone attacks targeting power and heating facilities.
Previously, it was reported that Germany was stepping up its support for Ukraine’s energy security, committing around $70 million to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, the funding is designated to expedite the delivery of essential supplies, including generators, energy equipment, and mobile thermal power plants.
