This was reported by the Telegram channel “Absolutely Reliable Source” on September 6, citing satellite imagery of the strike.

According to Militarnyi, the attack took place on September 4, when Ukrainian drones targeted a Russian air defense position in the area, triggering a fire near the site.

The Russian air defense systems were positioned near the settlement of Sirius, close to the Psou River and the border with Russian-occupied Abkhazia.

The September 4 attack near Sochi also reportedly inflicted losses on Russian military aviation. Ukrainian forces destroyed two Russian attack helicopters, a Ka-52 and a Mi-28, and damaged a Mi-8-series multipurpose helicopter in a drone strike on Sochi International Airport.

The attack struck multiple sites around Sochi Airport and the neighboring Adler district, including aviation fuel facilities and Russian air defense positions.

The reported losses near Sochi come amid continued Ukrainian operations against Russian air defense assets. On August 2, Ukraine’s Defense Forces carried out a precision strike against Russian military targets in the Russian-occupied part of the Zaporizhzhia region, destroying another S-300 system with long-range strike capabilities.

According to Ukraine’s General Staff, the destruction of the system significantly weakened Russia’s long-range strike capabilities in the area and reduced its ability to target Ukrainian military positions and civilian infrastructure in the region.
