Zelenskyy Honors Holocaust Victims on 80th Anniversary of Auschwitz Liberation in Poland

On January 27, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Poland to attend events marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, one of the largest Nazi death camps.
During his visit to Poland, Zelenskyy is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings, including talks with President of the European Council António Costa and French President Emmanuel Macron.
This information was reported by multiple Ukrainian media by the President’s spokesperson, Serhii Nykyforov.
On the evening of January 26, ahead of International Holocaust Remembrance Day and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, Zelenskyy participated in a memorial ceremony to pay tribute to Holocaust victims.

On December 12, UNESCO placed two additional Ukrainian cultural heritage sites under its enhanced protection. The Babyn Yar National Historical and Memorial Reserve and the Odesa Literary Museum are now included in the International List of Cultural Properties Under Enhanced Protection by UNESCO.
