Ukraine Strikes Russian Nebo-SV and P-18 Radar Equipment in Temporarily Occupied Crimea

Ukrainian forces struck several Russian military targets in temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as command posts and equipment concentrations in the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk regions, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on August 28.
The strikes were carried out on August 27 and overnight into August 28, targeting Russian radar, communications, training, and drone-control infrastructure.

Near Olenivka in Crimea, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian Nebo-SV radar station, equipment associated with a P-18 radar, and a mobile communications system.
Ukrainian forces also targeted a Nikolaevka radio relay station near Frunze in Russian-occupied Crimea. In Sevastopol, the General Staff confirmed a strike on a Russian training center used to prepare personnel.
Beyond Crimea, Ukrainian forces struck Russian drone command posts near Uspenivka in the Zaporizhzhia region and Kurakhove in the Donetsk region. A concentration of Russian weapons and military equipment was also targeted near Krasna Hora in the Donetsk region.
Separately, the Ukrainian military provided an update on an earlier operation, confirming that a Russian Kasta radar station was destroyed near Karaichev in Russia’s Rostov region on August 24.

The latest strikes come amid continued Ukrainian operations against Russian military assets farther from the frontline. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on August 28 that Ukrainian forces had also targeted a Russian Tu-95MS strategic bomber in Engels.
According to Zelenskyy, the operation was carried out by the Alpha unit of Ukraine’s Security Service. Tu-95MS strategic bombers are among the aircraft Russia uses to launch long-range strikes against Ukraine.
