Zelenskyy Meets European Leaders Ahead of White House Talks With Trump

On August 18, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with European leaders ahead of talks with US President Donald Trump at the White House.
Zelenskyy highlighted Ukraine’s aim for a stable and lasting peace for the country and for Europe. He stressed the importance of maintaining momentum in international discussions and noted that Russia is unlikely to stop aggression without coordinated pressure.

“The focus must be on joint international efforts to uphold peace and security,” Zelenskyy said. He thanked partners working toward this goal and emphasized Ukraine’s readiness for a ceasefire and a renewed security framework.

During the meetings, Zelenskyy coordinated positions with leaders from Finland, the United Kingdom, Italy, the European Commission, and NATO.
Earlier, Zelenskyy met with General Keith Kellogg and expressed gratitude for his engagement with Ukraine’s team during preparations for the Washington peace talks.
