Russian forces lost an estimated 1,480 troops, seven tanks, and 56 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on August 20.

The latest figures bring Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, to approximately 1,472,640.

According to the General Staff, Russian forces also lost three armored combat vehicles, seven multiple launch rocket systems, 10 UGVs, and 1,672 operational-tactical UAVs during the reporting period.

Ukraine additionally reported the destruction of 500 vehicles and fuel tankers and three pieces of special equipment.

Russia’s cumulative equipment losses are now estimated at 12,283 tanks, 25,165 armored combat vehicles, 48,261 artillery systems, 2,050 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,577 air defense systems, 439 aircraft, 354 helicopters, 2,321 UGVs, 470,869 operational-tactical UAVs, 5,010 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 136,818 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,551 pieces of special equipment.

No additional Russian air defense systems, aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, ships, boats, or submarines were recorded as destroyed during the latest reporting period.

Ukraine’s General Staff recorded 234 combat engagements across the front over the past 24 hours.

Previously, reports emerged that Ukraine’s Armed Forces are inflicting losses on Russia worth several times more than the cost of the weapons used to cause them.

According to Mission Control data for June, every $1 Ukraine spent on engaging Russian targets produced approximately $5 in estimated losses for Russia.
