Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,020 Troops, 3 Tanks and 47 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost more than 1,000 troops, dozens of artillery systems, and nearly 2,000 drones in a single day as fighting across the front remained intense.

Russian forces lost another 1,020 troops, three tanks, and five armored combat vehicles over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on May 25.

According to the latest figures, Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,356,940.

Ukraine’s military also reported the destruction of 47 artillery systems, two multiple launch rocket systems, 14 ground robotic systems, 1,924 operational-tactical drones, 55 cruise missiles, 302 vehicles and fuel tankers, and two pieces of special equipment over the past day.

Overall, Russian equipment losses reported by Ukraine now include 11,953 tanks, 24,608 armored combat vehicles, 42,687 artillery systems, 1,802 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,396 air defense systems, 436 aircraft, 353 helicopters, 310,245 operational-tactical drones, 4,687 cruise missiles, 33 ships and boats, and two submarines.

The General Staff said 233 combat engagements took place along the front line over the past day.

Russian forces launched one missile strike using 89 missiles and carried out 89 airstrikes, dropping 261 guided aerial bombs. They also used 9,975 strike drones and conducted 2,898 shelling attacks against Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 58 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems.

Over the same period, Ukrainian aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck six Russian manpower concentration areas, one UAV command post, and three Russian artillery guns.

Earlier, a report prepared by the US Defense Intelligence Agency at the request of Congress highlighted how Ukraine is successfully using technology, intelligence, and tactical innovation to inflict heavy losses on Russia’s military and prevent Moscow from achieving its battlefield goals.
