Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,230 Troops, 42 Artillery Systems, and 1,441 UAVs in One Day

Russian forces suffered an estimated 1,230 personnel losses over the past 24 hours, along with 42 artillery systems and 1,441 operational-tactical UAVs, according to figures released by Ukraine’s General Staff on September 22.

The update puts Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since the beginning of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, at approximately 1,520,880.

Over the same 24-hour period, Ukrainian forces destroyed three Russian tanks and nine armored combat vehicles. The losses also included two multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS), one air defense system, 312 vehicles and fuel tankers, eight unmanned ground vehicles, and four pieces of special equipment.

Since February 2022, Russia’s estimated equipment losses have risen to 12,364 tanks, 25,374 armored combat vehicles, 50,184 artillery systems, 2,151 MLRS, 1,663 air defense systems, and 529,134 operational-tactical UAVs, according to the General Staff.

The overall tally further includes 442 aircraft, 356 helicopters, 5,111 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, and two submarines. Russia is also estimated to have lost 152,173 vehicles and fuel tankers, 2,720 unmanned ground vehicles, and 4,733 pieces of special equipment.

The losses were recorded amid continued heavy fighting across the front, with 248 combat engagements reported over the previous 24 hours.

Just a day earlier, Ukrainian drone pilots from the Signum unit targeted Russian infantry on the Lyman front, including troops attempting to move through the area on motorcycles.
