Ukrainian Drone Operators Target Russian Motorcycle Assault Troops Near Lyman

Ukrainian drone operators from the Signum unit struck Russian infantry on the Lyman front, including troops attempting to move across the battlefield on motorcycles, the unit reported on September 21.

Signum released footage of the operation, showing its pilots targeting Russian troops operating in the area.

“Signum pilots worked very delicately and precisely against enemy infantry. Some of them tried to move on motorcycles but were stopped for speeding. No right of appeal,” the unit said.

The Lyman direction remains one of the key sectors of the front in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, according to Signum.

Russian forces continue attempts to advance in the area, relying on small assault groups, the unit added.

The strikes come as Ukrainian forces continue targeting Russian troops and military equipment across the Donbas region. In a separate operation reported the same day, Ukraine’s 40th Separate Marine Brigade destroyed a Russian T-72 tank and a D-30 howitzer after detecting the equipment concealed in a wooded area.

Footage released by the brigade shows drone operators from its Orion Unmanned Systems Battalion locating the concealed Russian armored vehicle and artillery system before carrying out precision strikes.
