Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,230 Troops and 7 Air Defense Systems in One Day

Russian forces lost another 1,230 troops and 2,587 pieces of equipment and weapons over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on June 16.

According to the latest figures, Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,385,420.

Ukraine’s military also reported the destruction of one tank, five armored combat vehicles, 36 artillery systems, two multiple launch rocket systems, seven air defense systems, three ground robotic systems, 2,062 operational-tactical drones, 50 cruise missiles, 417 vehicles and fuel tankers, and four pieces of special equipment over the past day.

Overall, Russian equipment losses reported by Ukraine now include 12,026 tanks, 24,768 armored combat vehicles, 44,118 artillery systems, 1,872 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,427 air defense systems, 436 aircraft, 353 helicopters, 353,541 operational-tactical drones, 4,783 cruise missiles, 33 ships and boats, two submarines, 107,508 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,300 pieces of special equipment.

The General Staff added that 228 combat engagements were recorded along the front line over the past day.

Earlier, Maksym Kravchuk, spokesperson for the Support Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reported that Ukraine’s engineering troops destroyed more than 1,000 Russian troops in May using minefields and other engineering barriers.
