Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,390 Troops and 62 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,390 troops, four tanks and 62 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on September 2.
According to the latest Ukrainian military figures, Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,491,030.

Russian forces also lost six armored combat vehicles over the latest reporting period, bringing their estimated cumulative losses to 12,324 tanks and 25,263 armored combat vehicles.
Russia’s total artillery losses have risen to 49,016 systems after another 62 were recorded over the past day. Ukraine also reported the loss of two Russian multiple-launch rocket systems and one air defense system, bringing those totals to 2,081 and 1,598, respectively.
Estimated Russian aviation losses remain unchanged at 440 aircraft and 354 helicopters.

The General Staff also reported that Russia lost 12 unmanned ground systems over the past day, raising cumulative losses in that category to 2,464.
Another 1,969 operational-tactical UAVs were recorded as lost during the latest 24-hour period, bringing the overall figure to 494,146.
Ukraine also reported 10 Russian cruise missiles lost over the past day, raising Russia’s estimated cumulative losses in that category to 5,070.
Russia’s other estimated losses stand at 35 ships and boats, two submarines, 142,715 vehicles and fuel tankers, and 4,625 pieces of special equipment. Over the latest reporting period, Russian forces lost another 383 vehicles and fuel tankers and two pieces of special equipment.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian and Russian forces clashed 213 times across the front over the previous day.
Russia carried out one missile strike and 93 airstrikes, dropping 313 guided aerial bombs, according to the General Staff. Russian forces also deployed 11,511 strike drones and conducted 2,969 strikes against Ukrainian positions and populated areas, including 57 involving multiple-launch rocket systems.
Earlier, reports emerged that Russian forces lost 124,170 personnel on the battlefield during the three summer months of 2026, including more than 42,000 in August.
According to the General Staff, Russian personnel losses amounted to 39,290 in June, increased to 42,860 in July, and reached 42,020 in August.
