Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,420 Troops, 50 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,420 troops, four tanks, and 50 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on October 10.

The latest figures bring Russia’s estimated personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, to approximately 1,550,910.

Russian forces also lost six armored combat vehicles during the latest reporting period, raising cumulative losses to 12,406 tanks and 25,515 armored vehicles. Another 50 artillery systems were added to the tally, bringing the overall estimate to 51,000, while two multiple-launch rocket systems and six air defense systems brought those totals to 2,201 and 1,699, respectively.

Ukraine also reported 1,591 operational-tactical UAVs lost over the past day, pushing the cumulative total to 556,926. Another nine unmanned ground systems were recorded as lost, raising that category to 2,917.

Russia’s estimated aviation losses remained unchanged at 443 aircraft and 356 helicopters, while cruise missile losses stayed at 5,126. Naval losses also remained unchanged at 35 ships and boats and two submarines.

Another 534 vehicles and fuel tankers were recorded as lost, bringing the cumulative figure to 160,946, while two additional pieces of special equipment raised that total to 4,812.

Ukrainian and Russian forces clashed 218 times across the front during the latest reporting period. Ukrainian forces repelled 22 Russian attacks in the Pokrovsk sector, 18 in the Southern Slobozhanshchyna sector, and 16 in the Kostiantynivka sector.

Russian forces also carried out 88 airstrikes, dropping 282 guided aerial bombs, and deployed 9,389 attack drones during the reporting period, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.

Earlier, independent researchers confirmed that a Ukrainian missile strike on Russian military command centers in temporarily occupied Donetsk on August 26 killed 20 Russian officers, including seven colonels and six lieutenant colonels.
