Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,560 Troops, 32 Artillery Systems, and 1,426 UAVs in One Day

Russian forces lost an estimated 1,560 personnel over the previous 24 hours, along with 32 artillery systems and 1,426 operational-tactical UAVs, according to figures released by Ukraine’s General Staff on September 23.

The latest figures bring Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, to approximately 1,522,440.

Over the same 24-hour period, Ukrainian forces destroyed three Russian tanks and 13 armored combat vehicles. Other reported losses included one multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS), two air defense systems, 380 vehicles and fuel tankers, three unmanned ground vehicles, and four pieces of special equipment.

According to the General Staff, Russia’s cumulative equipment losses since February 2022 have now reached an estimated 12,367 tanks, 25,387 armored combat vehicles, 50,216 artillery systems, 2,152 MLRS, 1,665 air defense systems, and 530,560 operational-tactical UAVs.

The overall tally also includes 442 aircraft, 356 helicopters, 5,111 cruise missiles, 35 ships and boats, and two submarines. Russia is further estimated to have lost 152,553 vehicles and fuel tankers, 2,723 unmanned ground vehicles, and 4,737 pieces of special equipment.

The reported losses came amid intense fighting along the front line, with 247 combat engagements recorded over the same 24-hour period.

The update comes as Ukrainian forces continue targeting Russian military infrastructure beyond the battlefield. On September 22, Ukraine’s General Staff reported that its forces had struck a facility used to store, prepare, and launch attack drones in Russia’s Oryol region, damaging five launchers and multiple storage buildings.
