Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,560 Troops, 45 Artillery Systems, 1,645 UAVs in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,560 troops, 45 artillery systems, and 1,645 operational-tactical UAVs over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on October 3.

According to the latest Ukrainian military estimate, Russia’s total personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,538,950.
Russian forces also lost three tanks, bringing the cumulative total to 12,391, as well as six armored combat vehicles, raising that figure to 25,477.
Another 45 artillery systems were added to the tally, bringing Russia’s estimated cumulative losses in the category to 50,637. Ukraine also reported additional multiple-launch rocket system losses, with the overall total standing at 2,175.
Air defense losses remained unchanged at 1,683 systems, while estimated aviation losses stayed at 443 aircraft and 356 helicopters.

The General Staff also recorded 14 ground robotic systems lost over the past day, raising the cumulative total to 2,824. Another 1,645 operational-tactical UAVs were added to the tally, bringing the total to approximately 544,498.
Russia’s estimated cruise missile losses remained unchanged at 5,126, while naval losses stayed at 35 ships and boats and two submarines. Another 422 vehicles and fuel tankers were recorded as lost, bringing the cumulative figure to 156,731. Ukraine also reported three additional pieces of special equipment, raising that total to 4,783.
Fighting remained intense across the front, with Ukrainian forces recording 194 combat engagements over the latest reporting period.
According to the General Staff, Russian forces carried out one missile strike and 90 airstrikes over the previous day, dropping 275 guided aerial bombs. Russian forces also deployed 9,522 attack drones and conducted 2,435 shelling attacks against Ukrainian positions and settlements, including 33 involving multiple-launch rocket systems.
The heaviest ground activity was reported in the Kostiantynivka direction, where Ukrainian forces repelled 21 Russian attacks, followed by 19 attacks in the Pokrovsk direction.
Earlier, on October 1, Ukrainian forces successfully used the domestically developed FP-7 tactical ballistic missile in combat for the first time, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, marking a new step in Ukraine’s efforts to expand production of long-range strike systems.
