Daily Update: Russia Loses 1,710 Troops, 67 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russia lost an estimated 1,710 troops, three tanks, and 67 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on October 9.
The latest figures bring Russia’s estimated personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, to approximately 1,549,490.

Russian forces also lost seven armored combat vehicles during the latest reporting period, raising cumulative losses to 12,402 tanks and 25,509 armored vehicles. Another 67 artillery systems were added to the tally, bringing the overall estimate to 50,950, while five multiple-launch rocket systems and one air defense system brought those totals to 2,199 and 1,693, respectively.
Ukraine also reported 1,757 operational-tactical UAVs lost over the past day, pushing the cumulative total to 555,335. Another 18 unmanned ground systems were recorded as lost, raising that category to 2,908.

Russia’s estimated aviation losses remained unchanged at 443 aircraft and 356 helicopters, while cruise missile losses stayed at 5,126. Naval losses also remained unchanged at 35 ships and boats and two submarines.
Another 617 vehicles and fuel tankers were recorded as lost, bringing the cumulative figure to 160,412, while four additional pieces of special equipment raised that total to 4,810.
Ukrainian and Russian forces clashed 211 times across the front during the latest reporting period, with the heaviest fighting recorded in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Defense Forces pushed Russian troops back near Hruzke and Novomykolaivka in the Dobropillia sector during a coordinated operation involving several Ukrainian units.
