Daily Update: Russia Loses 910 Troops, 5 Armored Vehicles, and 54 Artillery Systems in One Day

Russian occupation forces lost another 910 troops, five armored combat vehicles, and 54 artillery systems over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s General Staff reported on May 21.
According to the latest figures, Russia’s total estimated personnel losses since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, have reached approximately 1,352,980.

Ukraine’s military also reported the destruction of two multiple launch rocket systems, one air defense system, four ground robotic systems, and 1,715 operational-tactical drones over the past day.
Russian logistics losses continued to climb as well, with 202 vehicles and fuel tankers destroyed, along with one piece of special equipment.
Overall, Russian equipment losses reported by Ukraine now include 11,943 tanks, 24,591 armored combat vehicles, 42,454 artillery systems, 1,797 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,389 air defense systems, 436 aircraft, 353 helicopters, 302,787 operational-tactical drones, 4,632 cruise missiles, 33 ships and boats, and two submarines.

The General Staff added that 233 combat engagements took place along the front line over the past day as Ukrainian Defense Forces continued to repel Russian attacks across multiple sectors.
Earlier, Ukrainian military intelligence intercepted communications indicating losses within Russian forces on the Orikhiv direction in the Zaporizhzhia region following a mass poisoning allegedly caused by alcohol consumption.
In the recording, one Russian serviceman describes a situation in which a significant number of soldiers allegedly died after consuming poisoned alcohol at one of the observation posts. His interlocutor confirms that approximately eight to ten bodies were present at the site and adds that they had not been evacuated for at least five to six days.
