The total value of the new aid is approximately 128 million euros ($138.5M).

This latest contribution brings the total value of defense material Finland has delivered to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine to 3.4 billion euros ($3.68B).

For operational reasons and to ensure that the delivery reaches its destination, more detailed information on the content of the assistance, manner of delivery or schedule will not be provided.

When deciding on the support, the government considered both the needs of Ukraine and the resources of the Finnish Defense Forces.

On January 16, 2026, Finland announced its 31st defense aid package for Ukraine, a decision approved by the country’s president following a proposal from the government.

The package was valued at approximately $113 million, which brought the total value of Finnish military assistance provided since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine to roughly $3.6 billion.

Finnish Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen stated that the package had been built on an accelerated schedule to address Ukraine’s most critical needs, emphasizing that continued support with defense material remained the most effective way for Finland to promote a just peace.
