Russia Hits Kyiv’s Dovzhenko Film Studio Again, Damaging Three-Pavilion Complex

The Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio in Kyiv was damaged during a massive Russian missile attack on October 7, the studio reported.
The studio announced the damage in a Facebook post on the same day, noting that a three-pavilion building on its grounds had been hit.

"Another difficult night and a morning of bad news. A massive missile attack damaged our three-pavilion complex," the studio wrote.
No fatalities were reported at the time of the announcement. Emergency workers, police, and medical crews were working at the site as the consequences of the strike were being assessed.
The October 7 strike followed earlier Russian attacks that caused extensive damage to the historic film complex. Strikes on June 2 and June 15 damaged 18 buildings, engineering networks, and cultural heritage sites, including the main filming pavilion, administrative buildings, film archives, and workshops.

A direct strike also destroyed a costume workshop housing one of Ukraine's largest collections of stage and film clothing.
The attack on the film studio came amid a wave of Russian strikes on civilian and scientific institutions in Ukraine’s capital. On September 28, a Russian drone directly hit a building of Ukraine's National Academy of Sciences in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district, sparking a fire.
The strike killed two people and injured four others. Three days earlier, a Russian jet-powered drone struck an office building in the city's Solomianskyi district, killing three people and injuring seven.
