Russian commanders on the Dobropillia axis are allegedly refusing hospitalization to wounded soldiers and sending many of them straight back into assault operations, while canceling leave as units take heavy losses, the ATESH partisan movement reported on October 23.

According to ATESH agents within Russia’s Center grouping of forces, the practice has been in place for roughly two months in the 51st Guards Combined Arms Donetsk Army, including the 132nd and 5th Separate Motor Rifle Brigades.

ATESH claims that only soldiers who have lost limbs or are physically unable to stand are being sent for full medical treatment.

Others—including troops with shrapnel still lodged in their bodies—are allegedly being returned to assault units operating near Dobropillia in Ukraine’s Donetsk region.

The partisan group also said all leave and official travel have been canceled in the affected formations as commanders try to maintain pressure despite mounting losses.

According to ATESH, officers on the ground are openly rushing to fulfill orders by a specific deadline.

The group believes Russian commanders are attempting to seize territory that has already been reported upward as captured “in advance,” allowing Moscow to present supposed “major successes” during an upcoming trilateral meeting involving the leaders of the US, China, and Russia.

The claims come as Ukraine’s General Staff reported Russia’s highest single-day personnel losses of the full-scale war—an estimated 2,250 troops in 24 hours.

ATESH said its agents continue monitoring Russian units and passing operational information to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Previously, Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps detailed unusually heavy Russian losses during Operation Vivaldi, which its commanders attribute to the tactical isolation of the combat zone.

In the footage, a battalion commander in the 3rd Army Corps claimed his unit killed more than 250 Russian troops at one location.
