Russian Strikes on Lutsk, Rivne and Cherkasy Regions Leave Two Killed and Several Injured

Russian attacks on several regions of Ukraine caused civilian casualties and damage to residential infrastructure on May 13, regional officials said.

In Rivne region, two people were killed and four others injured following a Russian strike, according to Regional Military Administration head Vitalii Koval.

“There were strikes on civilian infrastructure, including a residential building. According to preliminary information, two people were killed and four injured. The enemy continues attacking the region,” Koval said in a Telegram post.

Authorities said civilian infrastructure sustained damage as emergency services continued to respond at the scene.

Head of Cherkasy Regional Military Administration Ihor Taburets also reported that the Smila community came under attack from Russian drones after air raid alerts were declared across the region early in the morning.

Official said several Russian unmanned aerial vehicles crashed in multiple locations within the city and nearby villages, damaging residential infrastructure.

According to Taburets, three people were injured in the attack. Two of the victims are in serious condition, while one sustained injuries of moderate severity. All were hospitalized and are receiving medical treatment.

Meanwhile, in Lutsk, authorities temporarily closed the city center and all bridges following another drone attack.

Law enforcement officials said restrictions were introduced after reports of UAV strikes in the area. Secretary of the Lutsk City Council Kateryna Shklyoda stated that information regarding damage to buildings and possible casualties was still being clarified.

Just a day earlier, on May 12, Russian Shahed drone struck a residential high-rise building in Kryvyi Rih, resulting in casualties among the residents. Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, confirmed the attack and stated that search and rescue teams were deployed to the site.

Monitoring services noted that an air raid alert was active for the Kryvyi Rih district from 6:46 PM to 7:51 PM. Emergency operations were launched immediately following the impact. According to preliminary data from the regional administration, at least two people were killed, and the strike ignited a fire at the scene.
