Operators from the Kassta unmanned systems battalion destroyed a North Korean-made multiple launch rocket system on the Lyman front, Ukraine’s 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade reported on May 6.

The brigade published combat footage showing Ukrainian drone operators tracking and striking the concealed launcher after Russian troops attempted to disguise it using tree branches and camouflage.

According to the brigade, the enemy tried to hide the system near the frontline, but Ukrainian drone crews quickly identified the position.

“A precise drop from Heavy Shot completely exposed the camouflage and revealed a Type-75 system from North Korea underneath. Further FPV drone strikes finally disabled the MLRS,” the brigade said in a statement accompanying the video.

The Type-75 is a North Korean-produced version of China’s Type 63 rocket launcher system. It uses 12 launch tubes capable of firing 107mm rockets, including high-explosive fragmentation and cluster munitions.

The lightweight artillery system has an effective firing range of around 8.5 kilometers. It can unleash a full salvo within seconds, making it a dangerous short-range support weapon frequently used for saturation attacks.

Earlier, reports emerged that Russia repeatedly expressed interest in exchanging only two captured North Korean nationals held by Ukraine, while showing no engagement regarding other foreign fighters detained on Ukrainian territory, according to Ukrainian officials.
