A Russian combined attack on Kyiv on June 2 destroyed a showroom of a car dealer of premium Chinese electric vehicles, leaving the building and cars inside burned out, according to footage from Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.

The strike damaged a Zeekr showroom in the Ukrainian capital, turning the site into another example of how Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian cities hit civilian businesses—including those linked to countries Moscow presents as partners.

China remains one of Russia’s most important political and economic partners, yet the attack destroyed a dealership selling cars from Zeekr, a premium Chinese electric vehicle brand created by Geely Holding Group.

Local authorities had earlier reported a major fire in Kyiv following the overnight attack. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service later released footage showing the scale of the destruction at the car showroom.

Zeekr is a relatively new premium electric vehicle brand launched in 2021 by China’s Geely Holding Group, which also owns major European automotive brands including Volvo, Polestar, and Lotus.

The brand was designed to compete with Tesla and other premium electric carmakers, combining advanced technology, safety systems, and futuristic design.

The destruction of the showroom came during a deadly Russian attack on Kyiv. At least four people were killed, and 65 others were injured, including three children, according to Ukrainian authorities.

The strike once again underscored that Russia’s attacks on Ukrainian cities do not only hit military-related targets. They also destroy homes, civilian infrastructure, private businesses, and foreign-linked commercial sites operating in Ukraine.

Earlier, a Russian Shahed attack drone struck a Chinese merchant vessel in the Black Sea.
