The extent of the damage was revealed in a satellite image released by Exilenova+, providing further evidence of the impact of the strike on the facility, which handles petroleum exports and reportedly supplies fuel to Russian military forces.
The facility was targeted overnight on October 10, when drones struck the oil-loading terminal, triggering a large fire.

The Novoshakhtinsk Petroleum Products Plant (NZNP) operates an oil-loading terminal in Rostov-on-Don’s Zheleznodorozhny district, formerly known as Yug Rusi.
The facility handles the storage and transportation of petroleum products, including shipments destined for export, and reportedly provides fuel supplies to Russian military forces. Its annual handling capacity is estimated at between 2.5 million and 3.5 million metric tons.
Petroleum products arrive at the site by rail and road before being transferred to storage tanks and subsequently loaded onto vessels. The facility’s infrastructure includes pumping stations, pipelines, and specialized berthing equipment to support these operations.

The terminal is part of NZNP’s broader logistics network, which incorporates railway facilities and a dedicated tanker fleet. According to the company, the fleet comprises five river-sea tankers and three floating storage vessels.
The reported damage in Rostov-on-Don comes amid further drone attacks targeting Russian oil infrastructure, including a separate incident in the Tambov region.
On October 20, a fire broke out at the Nikolskoye oil pumping station following a suspected Ukrainian drone strike. The facility is connected to the infrastructure supporting the Druzhba oil pipeline network.
