The German officials delivered messages of support following a large-scale Russian strike. During the meeting, both sides looked for ways to provide protection for Ukrainian citizens more quickly.
Zelenskyy noted that Germany has consistently helped strengthen the protection of the skies over Ukraine and expressed hope for continued leadership from Berlin during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
"We talked about how we can accelerate our agreements with Germany regarding air defense to protect Ukrainian men and women from such terror," Zelenskyy wrote.

The discussion also focused on a Drone Deal that Ukraine has proposed to Germany. This comes as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the European Union is finishing a support package worth ($6.4B). This specific funding is intended to focus on the production and supply of drones.
Previously, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius and Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov signed a letter of intent to launch "Brave Germany," a joint initiative focused on advancing defense technologies and supporting military startups.
The program was established to provide grants for companies developing solutions in artificial intelligence, unmanned systems, and missile-related projects. Additionally, the two countries agreed to cooperate on the production of both short-range and long-range drones, with the latter capable of striking targets at distances of up to 1,500 kilometers.
