Ukraine Destroys Russian Mi-28 and Mi-17 Helicopters 150 Kilometers Behind Enemy Lines, Video

Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces successfully struck a Russian Mi-28 and an Mi-17 helicopter at a field landing strip in the Voronezh region.
The forces' commander, Major Robert “Magyar” Brovdi, reported the operation on April 29.

The operation targeted aircraft more than 150 kilometers from the frontline at a field landing strip housing four Russian helicopters undergoing refueling and inter-flight technical inspections.
Ukrainian drone operators navigated past the main rotor blades to deliver precise strikes directly to the rear central section of the engine compartments of two aircraft. At least one Russian maintenance specialist was killed during the attack after being caught on the drone’s camera, according to Magyar.
The strike was executed by joint drone crews from the 429th Separate Brigade Achilles and the 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade. These units coordinated the attack in a jointly developed operation with the Special Operations Center A of the Security Service of Ukraine.
This strike aligns with the growing operational reach of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces. In a recent interview, Magyar has stated that Ukrainian drones are now capable of striking targets 1,500 to 2,000 kilometers inside Russia, effectively eliminating the concept of a peaceful rear for Russian forces.
Despite comprising only about 2% of the armed forces, the Unmanned Systems Forces now account for roughly one-third of all destroyed enemy targets. Alongside military assets like aviation, these deep-strike capabilities are increasingly used to target Russian energy infrastructure and oil refineries that fund Moscow’s war effort.
